How do you deal with your competitors?

I have heard a lot about not talking to your competition and just don’t get it. By staying friendly and passing along things I can’t do to them they do the same to me, and recently when one of them decided to close shop they sent all their customers to me, because they said they knew I would do a good job. I think that we need to take a look at the long view of your business and decide, what is the best thing you can do for your business. You can see the competition as the enemy and close yourself off to them or you can try and get along with them and hopefully help each other out. I think that in the long run it will help your business. I am sure you will find those that take advantage of you but for the most part it will help your business and besides those who do take advantage will not be in business long because they will use every opportunity to take advantage and will soon be found out.

Your comment is very true Jeff.

You can get everything you want in life if you help enough people get what they want.

Respect fellow competitors the way you would want others to respect you.
We're all in the business of helping people.

Jeff- I agree. Whatever you give, is returned to you two or even tenfold.
